The present study aimed to explore the extent of awareness among public and private secondary school principals in Lewa’ Wadi Al-Seer about collaborative leadership concepts.
It aimed to explore the extent of practicing such leadership by those principals.
A correlative descriptive approach was adopted.
The sample consists from 35 female and male principals who were selected from the public and private schools located in Lewa’ Wadi Al-Seer.
It was selected purposively.
An instrument was developed.
It consists from two parts.
The first part aims to identify the extent of awareness among public and private secondary school principals about collaborative leadership concepts.
It consists from 44 items and sheds a light on 4 areas.
The second part aims to identify the extent of practicing such leadership by public and private secondary school principals.
It consists from 43 items and sheds a light on four areas.
The validity and reliability of the study’s instrument were measured.
It was found that the extent of awareness among public and private secondary school principals about collaborative leadership concepts is high.
It was found that there isn’t any statistically significant difference- at the statistical significance level of (α≤0.05)- between the respondents’ extent of awareness about collaborative leadership concepts which can be attributed to (gender, or educational sector).
It was found that the extent of practicing such leadership by public and private secondary school principals is high.
It was found that there isn’t any statistically significant difference- at the statistical significance level of (α≤0.05)-between the respondents’ extent of practicing such leadership which can be attributed to (gender, or educational sector.
It was found that there is a statistically significant positive correlation between the extent of awareness among public and private secondary school principals in Lewa’ Wadi Al-Seer about collaborative leadership concepts and the extent of practicing such leadership by them.
In the light of the study’s results, the researcher recommends holding workshops for secondary school principals in a regular manner about the foundations and concepts of collaborative leadership and the way of practicing collaborative leadership.
Such workshops should be held because collaborative leadership plays a significant role in developing the educational and administrative processes in schools.
