Abstract EN

The study aims to identify the application of the rules of the RDA to the books of the Central Library of the Northern Technical University using the KOHA system according to the MARC21 records.

The case study approach was used as it was applied to the library, and the exploratory approach was used by looking at some previous studies in the same subject area.

The study came out with some results, including the appearance of a new cataloging standard that is compatible with the rapid electronic development, which is the RDA standard.

The study recommended the necessity of training and qualifying staff to apply these rules, and the necessity of applying the rules of RDA to all libraries of the Northern Technical University formations in order to ensure the unification of bibliographic records.
