Abstract EN

Although the size of the divorce phenomenon in the Jabal Al Ahdar region is experiencing rapid growth , the region has not previously undertaken any geographical study of the spatial dimensions of this problem .

therefore, this study aims to track evolution of the phenomenon and analyze its spatial variation and causes.

to achieve this aim, the study relied on official data and statistics, also on field work by questionnaire (112) divorced women in the study region.

the analysis of data is by descriptive method.

the study found that the size of divorce phenomenon and its rates between 2000-2018 in the study region has significant rising, and the study also found a large spatial variation in this phenomenon.

the study concluded that there are thirteen reasons of divorce in the study region, the most important of which is housing shortage.
