Abstract EN

The present study aimed to identify the faculty of educational sciences and teacher training students’ attitudes at An-Najah National University towards the teaching profession and to identify the effect of the variables of gender, the level of achievement and specialization.

to achieve the objectives of the study, the researchers developed a questionnaire that consisted of 33 items.

it was divided into three areas including the self-acceptance of teaching, the teacher financial status, and the teaching practice its reliability and stability were carefully verified.

the study sample consisted of 250 male and female students which comprised 25% of the study population.

the researchers used the analytical, descriptive approach.

the results of the study showed that the scores of teaching practice and self-acceptance were high.

the scores of the teacher’s financial status and the overall degree were average.

there were statistically significance differences in the students’ attitudes towards the teacher’s profession due to the variable of gender in term of self-acceptance of teaching in favor of females.

additionally, there were significant differences due to the variable of achievement in terms of self-acceptance of teaching, the financial rewards, and the overall score in favor of very good.

however, there were no significant differences due to the variable of specialization and the total score.

the study recommended the need to guide students to the objectives of this discipline, making them aware of the fact that it aimed to generate teachers who were able to bear responsibility regardless of the job’s material rewards.
