With the advent of ICTs, banks and legally-authorized financial institutions shifted their attention to the modernization of the payment systems; this has resulted in creating an electronic payment system.

however, this latter faces many risks, particularly the lack of information security and the questioning of electronic-transaction credibility.

in order to protect the means of electronic payment, the algerian legislator issued act n°15 / 04 that sets out the general rules on electronic signature and authentication; this has contributed to the economic development and to the modernization of the banking systems considering that electronic signature is one of the mechanisms protecting electronic-payment transactions.
