The AT.9 test is among the drawing tests directed to study and codify imagination, determine the personality of an adult, and distinguish between normal and pathological psychic functioning.

The paper presents two AT.9 protocols for two young men; one was randomly selected for the purpose of conducting research.

His personal history did not reveal any pathological antecedent.

The other man was directed to us by a general practitioner during the period of our work as a psychologist at the public health establishment of Tazmalt, Bejaia (Algeria).The results revealed that existential anxiety and the conflict revived by AT.9 allows to differentiate between normal and pathological psychic functioning, by the effectiveness or failure of the defense mechanisms used to control existential anxiety and manage the conflict that leads either to an adaptation to perceptual and projective reality, or to failure to do so
