Samir Toumi explores through his novel L’Effacement (Obliteration), the intricacies of a tormented existence.
Between mnemonic and existential narrative, the novel describes the basis of a collective memory to which is related that of the main character.
Also, the novel reveals through psychotherapy the confessions of a man suffering from the obliteration syndrome.
This article aims to understand the mechanisms of the obliteration of the main character.
Thus, at first we will try to make sense and figure out of the symbolism of the existential consciousness for a man exceeded by his feeling of disappearance.
Secondly, we will focus on the narrative allusions that adorn the novel with textual signs.
On this subject, La Nausée by Jean Paul Sartre would be a revealing key or even a writing strategy.

Samir Toumi explore à travers son roman intitulé L’Effacement les méandres d’une existence tourmentée.
Entre récit mnémonique et existentiel, le roman décrit le soubassement d’une mémoire collective à laquelle se greffe celle du personnage principal.
Aussi, le roman dévoile à travers la psychothérapie les confessions d’un homme atteint du syndrome de l’Effacement.
Cet article vise à comprendre les mécanismes de l’effacement du personnage principal.
Ainsi, dans un premier temps nous essayerons de décrypter la symbolique de la conscience existentielle d’un homme excédé par ses effacements.
Dans un second temps, nous nous intéresserons aux allusions narratives qui parent le roman d’indices textuels.
A ce sujet, La Nausée de Jean Paul Sartre serait une clé révélatrice ou encore une stratégie d’écriture.
