Abstract EN

The prupose of the topic is to clarify certain aspects of activity of Independent Regulatory Authorities in important economic areas that serve the general interest as well as the interest of the customers who benefit from the services of these sectors, such as the postal and transport authority, the insurance authority and the electricity and gas authority.

The study revealed that the Independent Regulatory Authorities are subject to the law of the market and that it is therefore imperative to have a relationship with the Competition Council, which guarantees the realisation of the principle of free competition, and that their role in consumer protection is reflected in certain legal aspects, including the power of control that they exercise in the exercise of their activities, not to mention the power of sanction that they exercise in this respect.
