The development of media and communication technology with its attractive characteristics for the individual, especially young people, by virtue of its multi-media and its satisfaction of desires and knowledge needs with the multiplicity and diversity of cultures, in addition to the human nature and the human need for participation and interaction within societies as a social need.

Despite the importance of the new media and the benefits of information flow and industry, addiction to these means and the negative interaction with the content and surrender to it created a state of fear among parents, educational families, psychologists and sociologists, and they began to point out the negative effects of addiction and exaggeration in dealing with these means on health, education, self and society For this reason, scholars have raised the problem of the relationship between these means and humans and the extent to which humans are protected against the different outlets of Media.

The research sought to verify this problem on students in Jordan, and the levels of dealing with means, methods, duration and importance to them, the habits of dealing and its impact, and the level of awareness of the educational family about this and their procedures.

For this reason, the research presented the following themes to achieve its objectives: Exposure to digital media and its impact on the individual, the relationship between increased exposure to these means and psychological, health and social diseases of the individual: isolation, depression and exclusion, or between them and the promotion of positive global cognitive and cultural benefits, and what is the relationship of this with media education, and the individual’s comptence thereof.
