صرح ممثل منظمة الصحة العالمية بأوروبا "Hans Kluge " أمام وسائل الإعلام بتاريخ 23 أفريل 2020 أن ما يقارب نصف وفيات جائحة كوفيد-19 بأوروبا مصدرها ديار رعاية المسنين في مأساة إنسانية لا يمكن تصورها.
في هذا السياق تأتي هذه الدراسة التي تهدف لقياس العلاقة بين عدد المقيمين في ديار رعاية المسنين و عدد وفيات جائحة كوفيد-19 باستخدام أسلوب الانحدار الخطي البسيط، و قد أظهرت النتائج أن تفاوت عدد المقيمين في ديار المسنين يفسر إلى حد كبير تفاوت عدد وفيات جائحة كوفيد-19 بين مختلف الدول و مناطق العالم (R2 = 0.

Abstract EN
The representative of the World Health Organization in Europe, Hans Kluge, declared on April 23, 2020 that “up to half of those who have died from covid-19 pandemic were resident in long-term-care facilities.
This is an unimaginable human tragedy.
” In this context, this study aims to estimate the relationship between the number of residents in long-term-care facilities and the number of deaths caused by covid-19 pandemic, using the simple linear regression models.
As the results showed that the difference in the number of residents in these homes largely explains the difference in the number of covid-19 pandemic deaths between different countries and regions of the world (R2 = 0.
