Abstract EN
2011.
In 2011, the Kingdom of Morocco witnessed protests led by the “February 20” movement, similar to what happened in the Arab countries under the name of “The Arab Spring”.
Indeed, the movement demanded change and reform and showed its dissatisfaction with the low economic and social conditions.
For fear of escalation like what happened in Tunisia, Egypt and Libya.
.
, - in overthrowing ruling regimes -, the royal institution took a proactive step, represented in a speech delivered by King Mohammed VI on March 09, 2011, in which he pledged to bring about constitutional and political reforms, in response to the demands of the movement, followed by amending the constitution and a referendum on it, then calling for premature elections on November 25, 2011, in which the Islamic Party - the Justice and Development Party - ranked first.
Moreover, considering that the party was in its first experience in governance, it has remained opposite to the regime since it entered political work in 1996.
We aim through this research paper to determine the extent to which the party has achieved the path of reforms entrusted to it which has been brought by the new constitution for the year 2011.
