This study seeks to evaluate the impact that the United States of America TBTs have on the pharmaceutical industry in Saudi Arabia.

The study is part of an effort by the researcher to develop and distribute knowledge and concepts that are aimed at assisting the two countries’ agencies and governments in better management of the issue .

TBTs hinder trade in a number of ways, they may raise the cost of doing business for various businessmen and place additional requirements on producers.

On the other hand, they have the ability to create a better market system through giving assurance to consumers on the safety of products.

Therefore, they pose threats and present opportunities for international trade.

Although agreements exist to regulate the TBTs, countries still come up with their own TBTs and this affects other trading partners.

The US is one such country that has placed TBTs in the pharmaceutical industry and this affects trade with Saudi Arabia
