Abstract EN

This research sheds light on the extent to which e-learning contributes to upgrading and improving the scientific attainment of students in Algeria which recently adopted this pattern, by including online platforms on the official websites of universities.

in this context, we conducted a survey on a sample of students at the university of Boumerdes as a case study to evaluate the effectiveness of e-learning and its positive results as an alternative to traditional education and to identify the obstacles to adopting this type of learning under normal circumstances.

through three main axes, we review the theoretical framework of the study variables and the study's findings, we reached a main result which is e-learning is not effectively contributing to the improvement of the scientific attainment at the level of Boumerdes university.

this can be explained by the lack of resources on one hand and the inability to understand the importance of distance learning on the other hand.

these results push us to work to activate the use of information and communication technologies as an essential part of the learning process at the Algerian university.
