Abstract EN

This research paper aims to shed light the efforts of Arab countries in the establishment and application of corporate governance principles, focusing on the experience of Egypt as the first Arab country to adopt the concept of corporate governance, which we will study from the beginning of application through various on the basis of various reports and related publications during the period 2001-2016.

the study concluded that the state of Egypt has made significant efforts to reform its corporate governance, this resulted in a good performance in the shareholder's governance index and transparency index, and average performance in the conflict of interest index and the accounting auditing standards index, the study recommended that reforms should continue by focusing on indicators that have under-performed.
