Towards an integrated social waqf bank model

Abstract EN

This paper aims to analyse the concept of Social Waqf (endowment) Bank that manage Waqf professionally and can create a synergy of economic equity in society.

Based on the previous proposed models of the Waqf Bank and the qualities of non-bank institutions that collect cash for Waqf purposes, this conceptual paper will attempt to enhance previous proposed models by proposing, new governance structure, new operations and give new prospect for development of Waqf to tackle the challenges faced by Waqf institutions.
