Among the causes of the banking system instability is the globalization of financial market, emerging of financial innovations in manner which held to the inefficiency of the traditional tools.

This paper aim to discuss the modern tools used to maintain the stability of the Financial system as whole, and particularly the banking system, this tool is the gouvernance, We will discuss the most important determinants and standards of governance in the banking system, with reference to the reality of the application of governance in the Algerian banking system.
