Abstract EN

This short essay focuses on the hybridization or creolization (Glissant) of languages in Algeria.

While I was analyzing the underlying causes which led to the collapse of the country’s system of linguistic codes by viewing them in the context of language inventiveness (or perhaps irrationality) unique to the Algerians, I noticed that, in reality, such a collapse was only one of the expected effects induced by an educational policy which was strongly conditioned by an ideological interpretation of the nation imposed from the top.

Ce court essai a pour objet l’hybridation ou créolisation (Glissant) des langues en Algérie.

Notre recherche des causes profondes qui avaient conduit à l’illisibilité de la codification linguistique nous a d’abord fait entrevoir la possibilité d’une inventivité (ou peut-être irrationalité) des Algériens en la matière.

Or, si une telle donne est envisageable, elle est vite battue en brèche par ce qui apparaît comme un véritable conditionnement idéologique de tout ce qui a trait au substrat linguistique en Algérie.
