Premenstrual mania is a rare disorder and is not classified in either ICD-10 or in DSM-IV classification of disease.
This is a report of a 23- year-old woman, who experiences manic episodes regularly during the week before menses (the luteal phase of the menstrual cycle) and remits following the onset of menses.
The paper reviews the literature regarding the relationship between affective disorders and menstrual cycle, and discusses the case throw-ing lights and raising many questions.
