Safi al-Din al-Hilli is one of the knights' poets.

he participated in the battle of Zawra (Iraq) in revenge for his uncle, then he went to Mardin and praised its kings.

he was proficient in all poetry topics.

he lost several of his companions and what he had of authority and power, then he felt his distance from the home of his youth remembering the pride of his family when they were masters of Hilla, especially after he became aged and lost losing some of his rights, all of this made his social alienation spatial, temporal and psychological in his independent poems and syllables with emotional expressions that indicates his ability in poetry with his style, so he explained us the reality of the age and its circumstances.
