Abstract EN

This study aims to analyse the relationship between environmental degradation and ethnical conflicts.

It tries to highlight the status of migration resulted from this degradation, as well as, the competition over natural resources.

Such competition usually trigger conflicts in many countries, especially that with multiple ethnicities which also witnessing an environmental degradation.

This leads the inhabitants to compete over rare resources, and sometimes reaching the point of fighting.

The competition occurs between those who seek to exploit the resources available in the target territories and those who defend these resources, since they are located in their territories.

Moreover, the study will examine what has happened and what is still taking place in the African continent, using contributions from the Toronto school and the ethno-realistic approach.
