the cognitive awareness of this research - based on criticism of criticism - is based on the attempt to deal with a description, analysis and criticism of the author Taha Hussein's work (Imitation and renewal) by questioning him about the way he dealt with the duality of imitation and renewal in Arabic literature.

It also sought to find out the most important visions and provisions contained in this book.

Moreover, this research attempts to discuss those visions with a scholarly discussion sparking epistemological and critical questions taking into account the intellectual and cognitive contexts of the author and the temporal and spatial contexts of the book.

Beyond that, this work seeks to reveal a unique horizon pursued by Taha Hussein in explaining the phenomena of imitation and renewal in literature which made his book rich with the visions of many literary phenomena.

Using focused visions to understand the two terms on which his book was based on from an intellectual and critical perspective simultaneously.

He emphasizes that not every province of the old is an imitation, nor is every addition to the old is a renewal referring to principles that preservation and renewal cannot be achieved without them.
