The issue of studying and rereading heritage has occupied a place in the field of contemporary Arab critical studies, considering that the mere interest in this issue indicates awareness of the reality of this heritage as a rich source for study and analysis, not only as research in the past, but also because it is connected to the current situation.

through this article, we seek to shed light on the reading of the Moroccan critic Abdel-Fattah Kilito as the most prominent researchers who recognized the necessity of returning to the study of ancient Arab heritage for discussion and analysis, and we will stop at his most important studies in which he focused on the critical importance of the ancient narrative heritage, which is the book "Maqamat- narrative and cultural forms-" "in order to extract a set of conclusions that we consider an introduction to building a critical perception that can help us in approaching current monetary issues.
