The study aimed to uncover the effect of thealternative evaluation on the development ofthinking in the cognitive and skill level of studentsof the College of Basic Education in thesubject of handicraft.

The study problem is rep resented by the following main question: What has the effect of using the alternativeevaluation on developing the level of knowledgeand skills of students of the College of Basic Educationin the subject of handicrafts? The following questions are derived fromthis question: 1.

What is the effect of the alternative evaluationon developing the level of knowledge andskills? 2.

What are the skills of the level of knowledgeand skill for students of the College of BasicEducation for the subject of handicrafts? 3.

Is there a difference between the averagescores of the experimental group and the averagescores of the control group in the cognitiveand skill level test? 4.

Is there a difference between the meanscores of the experimental group and the averagescores of the control group in the skill scaletest for the subject matter of handicrafts? In thisstudy, the researcher used the experimental approachbased on two equal groups with a pretest, and afterwards in addition to the descriptivecurriculum through the method of contentanalysis, and the College of Basic Education /Phase Two was chosen to be a field of study, andthe study sample consisted of 60 students fromthe second stage and two classes were chosen Inthe intentional method, where a class was assignedas an experimental group consisting of 30students using the alternative assessment, andthe other class as a control group consisting of30 students in the traditional way, and the studytools consisted of a tool for analyzing the contentof the manual busy subject matter.

Departmentof Artistic Education, for the purpose of identifyingtheir level of performance of leatherworkskills, and it became clear to her that there is aclear weakness in their capabilities to implementthe requirements of leather work due to the lackof focus on its importance to the student in hisprofessional or social life.
