Abstract EN

Despite the provision of many mechanisms and laws in order to develop employment and combat unemployment in Algeria, the measures taken in favor of women still reflect a social treatment rather than a real employment policy.

This study attempts to shed light on the reality of women's employment in Algeria and to highlight the retreat of a group of women towards the informal sector within the framework of the practice of home work, through a study on a sample in a region of western Algeria.

In this context, the research aims to clarify the characteristics of home work and to identify the most important motives and obstacles that characterize it, which mainly refer to resistance to organizational and political influences, but above all it works to adapt to the prevailing social and cultural environment.
