Abstract EN

This research aims to study synonymy as a phenomenon in the Holy Quran and the way words which seem to be synonyms are translated by looking at their semantic peculiarities.

it relies on a descriptive approach based on criticism and analysis, in such a way that we highlight the theoretical aspects of synonymy in the holy Quran and some other principles permitting to understand and translate all the possible meanings.

moreover, certain methods of understanding and interpretation will be presented by showing how they make sure that the translator can identify the semantic differences between synonyms.

then, some verses from the holy Quran, with real similarities in terms of meanings and connotation, will be analyzed to correct both the errors of understanding and translation.
