Algeria seeks like many states to improve the local administration in order to get closer to the citizen, meet his demands and achieve local development by applying governance standards within a framework that guarantees transparency, accountability, combating corruption, as well as opening the way for the citizen to participate in decision-making.

the study identifies the reality and challenges of local governance and ways to activate it.
