The special tribunal for Lebanon is one of the mixed international tribunals that has represented a unique model in the field of international criminal justice, établished by the Lebanese government in agreement with the un on 23 / 1 / 2007.

an agreement that has not been ratified, the un made its provision into force through security council resolution 1757 on 30 / 5 / 2007, based on chapter VII, to consider the terrorist crime that killed former Lebanese prime minister Rafik al-Hariri and some of his companions.

the special tribunal for Lebanon has distinguished itself from the rest of the mixed tribunals by the way they are established, competent and contributed to international criminal justice in the fight against terrorist crime.
