Civic education is a comprehensive education for various political, national, social, educational and economic aspects, which have become embodied in various curricula at different levels, in order to enable the learner to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to prepare him for civic life in a better way, knowing that civic education has targeted competencies that distinguish it from the rest.

accordingly, we aim through this research paper to present the competencies targeted for civic education in general and the competencies targeted for civic education in the educational system in Algeria in the intermediate education stage in particular.
