There is no doubt that the learning process depends on its success on the extent to which the teacher is able to choose the appropriate teaching method in accordance with each activity and learning situation.

accordingly, the choice of the appropriate method of teaching is not random and improvisation, but rather is subject to a previous process that includes scrutiny, review and preparation, which is known as the planning process.

the article aims to identify the status of planning from the point of view of middle education teachers, and the extent of its contribution to the success of the educational act in accordance with the competency approach.

we have found that teachers acknowledge the importance of planning and promote it, with the absence of a unified methodology in planning, the latter is based on a group of quick individual interpretations scattered here and there, as despite the renewal of the approach in teaching, the planning methods remained banal and indelible.
