The current study aims to second answer : what did the an generation curricula bring at the level of the linguistic tasks ? to answer this problematic, the study followed a specific methodology.

first, introduction presenting the problematic was provided.

later comes a theoretical part dealing with general notions about the linguistic tasks.

then comes the practical part tracing forms of innovation that second-generation curricula brought to the linguistic tasks at the level of middle school books.

the study showed that innovation touched different areas in the linguistic tasks including the terms indicating tasks, their forms, and their contents.
