Roads and corridors in all forms are of great importance in the lives of people and communities, because they have a strong relation with the life requirements and daily interests of people.

Therefore, states and political entities gave them an important attention, efforts and money for their close relationship with the interests of these states and their political, economic and social ambitions.

Consequently, these passes and roads have generally formed a major axis of concurrence and conflict between human groups from time immemorial to the present day.

This study attempted to reveal the importance of these land passes to the leaders of the Algerian resistance, especially during their confrontation with the French colonialism in Algeria and to prevent the implementation of its military projects.

Among the land passes that have taken a lot of attention among the leaders of the Algerian resistance, we find the path of "iron gates" or "El-Bibans" in the area of Medjana.

We will try to elucidate the importance of this path to the two leaders of the Algerian resistance, "Emir Abdelkader" and "Hadj Ahmed Bey", trying to highlight the features and images of the rivalry between these two personalities in order to take advantage of the privileges of this pass in their liberal attempts against French colonialism.
