This article aims to examine the therapeutic course of the depressed by studying the relationship between therapeutic appeals, where the therapist or his family searches for a therapeutic alternative, as a result of various factors, including the ineffectiveness of treatment or the rejection of materials or the therapeutic method, which leads to setbacks in the treatment followed.

under this situation, the depressed becomes hostage to the evaluations made by the patient or his relatives in a certain period of time, as it is sufficient to know the extent of the efficacy of the treatment followed or not.

we consider appeals as a kind of transition between what is medical and traditional and what is psychological.

if therapeutic appeals are the search for treatment and setbacks are a failure in the treatment followed, are therapeutic appeals the result of the failure of the therapeutic, process or is it an option in the course of treatment ? how that was, the therapeutic itinerary evaluated in order to go to therapeutic appeals ? we relied on the case study approach, the study is consisted of three cases suffering from depression and undergoing medical treatment, their ages between 28 and 68 years.

in conclusion, therapeutics setbacks have a role in the emergence of therapeutic itinerary that is due to the failure of the following treatment and its lack of therapeutic profitability.

they can’t achieve recovery and get rid of psychological suffering, because the absence of psychological support, which developed in the cases of psychological pressures in daily life, and the negative role of their family, its rejection and ignoring, and its lack of awareness of its important role in improving the therapeutic situation of depressed people.
