The urban extended family in Algerian society is considered as one of the most important phenomena that characterizes the city.

The custom that is agreed upon in Algerian society still firmly rooted in the minds of the individuals who receive it through socialization, where the collective spirit is still imprinted on all social phenomena.

This is due to the rules of the social aspects in the Algerian tradition which give the extended family an important rank.

From this point of view, we will try in this study to answer the following question: What are the most important jobs that the extended family provides to nuclear family in the Algerian city, which works on its continuity and presence in a conflicting medium and its social and economic characteristics?
