Stock markets play an influential role in achieving economic development, as they affect various areas of economic activity.

at the same time, they are affected by several policies and variables surrounding them, as financial policy is one of the most critical factors affecting the performance of these markets.

this study aims to determine the nature and direction of the relationship between public spending policy, tax policy, and the performance of stock markets in the UAE.

the study concluded that there is a direct correlation between public spending and market size and prices indicators, and inversely with market liquidity indicators.

and the absence of a relationship between tax revenues and market performance indicators.
