This research paper deals with the translation of some sociocultural peculiarities in Leandro Fernández de Moratín Spanish theatre of the eighteenth century.

accordingly, it aims at showing the extent to which the sociocultural context is related to meaning and how it affects its making.

therefore, the problem came in probing the obstacles appearing during the theatrical text translation, while clarifying the techniques available in that.

one of the most prominent results reached in that is the adoption of domestication and foreignization in translating such feature.

this divergence is due to Spanish eighteenth century historical and environmental reference.

which makes difficult transferring sociocultural peculiarities to another era far from the one in which it was produced and appeared.

thus, we emphasize that there is no absolute technic in such sociocultural transfer between languages.
