he is the poet who probes the depths of his sad psyche and writes poems about sadness, treachery, the pain of loss, and the vicissitudes of days, thus immortalizing a painful reality that he lived and lived through.

and between the historian who documents his passing, his travels, the calamity of his friends, and the death of sultans, he remained beside their graves, singing poetry to them.

in fact, Ibn al-Khatib excelled in both, as he is one of the Andalusian figures, a scientific literary encyclopedia of the most famous writers of his time, and “his book, Nafadat al-Jurab fi 'Illa al-Azra", the subject of our study was not only a book to list the rest of the past preserved in memory, but rather a book of poetry.
