This research paper aims to highlight the importance of recrying a pilgrim text by a group of middle-stage children in the development of language compositions on the one hand, and to understand the extent of the difficulties and challenges posed related to the linguistic competence of the formulas on the other.

It also contributes to informing us about the linguistic and cognitive capabilities of this group by repeating the general meaning of the text.

How long have compositions and formulas been used in the reformulation process? How is this done? Questions we will try to answer through this research paper.

L'objectif principal de cet article est d'évaluer la compréhension d'un texte argumentatif à travers sa reformulation par des élèves de 4ème année du cycle moyen.

Nous nous interrogerons, par ailleurs, sur les stratégies et les opérations linguistiques mises en œuvre par les élèves lors de l'activité de reformulation.

L'analyse des productions d'élèves a permis de dégager des zones de fragilité au niveau cognitif et au niveau linguistique.

Il s'est avéré que la majorité des apprenants ont utilisé des stratégies de répétition et d'effacement (suppression) qui induisent au changement de sens pour contourner les difficultés liées à la compétence linguistique (compétence paraphrastique); et combler le déficit de compréhension.
