Abstract EN

The phenomenon of substitution is one of the morphological phenomena mentioned in the Qur'an, where the researcher defined this phenomenon from the morphological and linguistic points of view and mentioned examples of it by citing references and sources, extracted from the Qur'anic words in which this phenomenon is mentioned- as stated in the book of (the table in the expression of the Qur'an) by Mahmoud bin Abdul Rahim Safi (birth: 1376 AH) and explaining the place of the replacement in the word as supported by some scholars, since the author of the book has extracted the substitution in names and verbs from (38) Surahs in the holy Quran between the Meccan and Medinan Surahs as in the following: (al-Fatihah, al-baq̈Arah, al 'Imran, an-Nisa, al-Ma'idah, al-An'am, al-A'raf, at-Tawbah, Yunus, Hud, Yusuf, an-Nahl, al-Kahf, Maryam, Ta-ha, al-Hajj, al-Mu'minun, al-Furqan, an-Naml, al-Qasas, ar-Rum, Faatir, Ya-sin, as-Saaffaat, Fussilat, ad-Dukhaan, al-Hujuraat, Qaaf, Muhammad, al-Hadeed, al-Qamar, al-Hashr, al-Muzzammil, al-Muddaththir, Abasa, al-Inshiqaaq, al-Fajr, Quraysh).

the number of names in which there was a substitution in these Surahs was (54), while the number of verbs was actually (47).
