The research is a review of the social and cultural biography, intellectual transformations and political orientations of Badr Shaker al-Sayyab.

Starting with his birth and his studies in Basra, then his acceptance in the Higher Teachers’ College, his early joining the Iraqi Communist Party and the opposition practices he participated in against the monarchy and the legal consequences that were imposed on him because of those actions and behavior Prior to dismissal, expulsion and arrest, his role in the literary leadership of the free poetry movement in Iraq, his defection from the Communist Party, his attacking it in articles and poetic poems, his transformation to the Arab nationalist orientation, his position on the July 1958 revolution and its leader, Abdul Karim Qassem, and the serious illness that afflicted him and prevented him from work and his early death in 1964 at the age of (38) years old.
