Arabic Abstract

تأتي أهمية البحث في محاولة لدراسة المرويات الجزيرة و كيف تم تناولها من قبل المؤرخ الموصلي أبي زكريا الأزدي (۳۳٤ ه / ۹٤۰ م) من خلال كتابه تاريخ الموصل و هو تاريخ محلي وصل إلينا منه الجزء الثاني فقط، و فيه معلومات غاية في الأهمية و تفاصيل غزيرة عن أحوال الموصل منذ نهاية العصر الأموي و هي سنة (١٠١ ه / ٧١٩ م) و ينتهي بسنة (٢٢٤ ه / ٨٣٨ م) في عهد الدولة العباسية و هي سنة انتهاء الجزء الثالث من الكتاب، و الكتاب حافل بالأحداث السياسية، و الإدارية، و العمرانية، و الاجتماعية عن مدينة الموصل، و بما أن الجزيرة كانت مرتبطة إداريا بالموصل فلابد أن الأزدي قد أورد معلومات تخص الجزيرة، لذا فان نطاق البحث يتعلق بالجانب الإداري للجزيرة الفراتية من حيث ولاة الجزيرة، توليتهم، عزلهم، و المهام الموكلة اليهم.

English Abstract

The importance of the research revolves around an attempt to study everything related to the al-Djazīra and how by Abu Zakariya al-Azdī dealt with it, the al-Azdī is a historian from Mosul who left us part two of the book (the history of Mosul), and that book considered among the books of the local history.

it includes information of vital importance, and it provides so many details of the Mosul’s conditions since the ending of the Omayyad era, and the coming of the Abbasids up to (224 AH / 838 AD) the year of completing the third part of the above-mentioned book.

the information of the book can be divided into political, administrative architectural, and scientific ones.

there's no doubt that al-Azdī mentioned the term (al-Djazīra) during his tackling of the early phases of the history of Mosul and in many occasions, the term comes within two contexts, i.e., the administrative and political contexts.

therefore, the research problem is related to following up on the administrative developments that occurred in the al-Djazīra area according to al-Azdi's perspective and his book (the history of Mosul).
