Abstract EN

Algerian novelists not only mastered the structure of the novel but excelled in the art of narration as well.

The present investigation aims to giving importance to the world of Algerian narrative fiction to better understand its cultural patterns and human models; and then connecting them to the reality of Algerian society.

The cultural criticism approach has been applied being the most appropriate for the analysis and understanding the marginalized and dominant human models in Algeria; and realizing the cultural obstacles that prevented a real renaissance in Algeria.

The analysis of results reveals that the Algerian novel is characterized by fertility and narration.

It does not simulate reality and history but rather its writer is a critic who seeks to bring about change.

Therefore, it uncovered the hidden, exposed the falsified and obliterated facts.

It was the mouthpiece of the fragile and marginalized classes on which the worst forms of exploitation and domination were practised.
