Abstract EN

The current study aimed to build a proposed model for the support services needed by students with mental disabilities in institutes of intellectual disabilities in Jeddah according to the kingdom vision (2030).

it included six areas, namely, school health, psychological and counseling services, language and speech therapy, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, mobility, and transportation.

it also showed that there are statistically significant differences at the level of (0.05) between the points of view of primary school teachers and middle and high school teachers regarding determining the reality of language and speech therapy services provided to students with mental disabilities in the intellectual educational institutes in Jeddah, where the differences were in favor of primary school teachers.

while the differences in the reality of school psychological and counseling services provided for that group according to the variable of specialization, were in favor of teachers specialized in psychology.

based on the results of the study, the researchers recommend the necessity of providing support services that are deficient, especially the physical and occupational therapy services, and adding courses in the field of support services in undergraduate programs of the special education departments at universities.
