Abstract EN

The historical material has emerged in modern creative texts, especially in novels, as there are many novels that have received their materials and events from the theatre of history to evoke the past and consolidate it in the memory of the people in a new language and a modern vision.

Some Arab novelists have derived their creative writing material from history in order to address the current reality and the events of the times.

Thus, they searched the historical memory to find a cognitive material and reformulated it by mixing history with beauty.

In the present paper, we aim to reveal the extent of the artistic relationship between history and the modern Arabic novel, and to determine the effectiveness of the historical material, its importance in the narrative text and the method of its use, adopting the descriptive-historical approach for fulfilling these aims.
