Abstract EN

This research paper deal with the cognitive mechanisms used by Arab modernists in reading the holy Qur'an which differ basically from those known and applied in the intellectual and interpretive system of the ancient and modern scholars of Islam.

as the latter does not really reveal what is meant by the Qur'an and it neither respond the actual needs nor add a qualitative addition to the Arab nation, consquently the renaissance will not be achieved.

also, the modernists thought that these mechanisms chosen by them help to a correct understanding of the Qur'an and the heritage since these mothods and mechanisms had been applied in western societies and western religious heritage.

so, this study aimes to define these mechanisms and its intellectual background and also to evaluate and expose it on the scale of the scientific research.
