Water has a vital and effective role in achieving sustainable development, and given the risks it faces today from its expected scarcity due to the increased demand for it and climate change, many national legislative strategies seek to address water challenges.

And that is by quickly adopting and implementing institutional mechanisms for monitoring the sustainable development goals related to water.

Therefore, this study aims to shed light on the legislative and institutional strategy of Algeria within the framework of Law No.

12-05 related to water to regulate the mechanisms of use and sustainable development of water.

Where the Algerian legislator laid special legal foundations for the formation, use, management and protection of water from various types of pollution, in implementation of the comprehensive future national strategy to ensure the integrated management of water resources for current generations, taking into account the rights of future generations from this wealth.
