The science of Qur'an interpretation is one of the noble sciences that have gained the attention of past and present scholars in order to facilitate the understanding of the Noble Qur'an's meanings for his readers.

even though every interpreter adopts a specific method to do so, it is agreed upon the use of Arabic language, especially poetry, to explain Qur'anic verses since it is one of the richest and comprehensive linguistic elements known in the pre-Islamic era.

therefore, this research study is intended to explore the interpretation of Sheikh Abd al-Rahman al-Tha'albi (d.

: 875 AH) intitled “al-Jawaher al-Hassan fi Tafsir Qur'an, ” as being one of most valuable books written with a methodological approach.

we will also try to identify the presence of pre-Islamic poetic references in the book ; then, investigate on how al-Tha'alabi was able to evoke dozens of poetic lines and use them to clarify grammatical and lexical issues as well Qur'an's different recitations.
