The multiplicity of space activities has made them a very important threat if they cause damage to the Earth's surface or outer space.

This is what actually happened through the incidents that we dealt with in the study, and in view of this situation, the 1967 Space Treaty stipulated in its sixth and seventh articles the principle of international responsibility of states and international organizations that engage in space activities, which is considered as a restriction to the principle of freedom of exploration and use of outer space.

The 1972 Liability Agreement came in support of the previous two texts, as it included substantive rules for international liability for damage caused by space objects, and procedural ones that ensure the prompt payment of full and fair compensation for victims for the damage they suffered.
