Abstract EN

Novel is considered as one of the most pervasive arts in the western and arab world.

In which we find in it discussions about diverse issues of life and intellect, that well expressed the human – being and his suffering.

It is as the case of existential philosophy which studied mainly the individual.

vision of literature to the existing issues facilitated the understanding of various princiles to this doctrine, whose rules were laid by great existential philosophers, especially the novel.

So we will attempt in this research to trace the existential impact in a work to one of arab novelists, naguib mahfouz through his novel the way, which is counted a philosophica novel par exellence.
