The concept of speech acts in pragmatics has been linked to the efforts of the linguistic philosopher John Austin, the founder of speech acts theory, and then his student, Searle, who continued build this theory, which has become a central core in pragmatics.

the concepts of speech acts were found in books of the interpreters by explaining the verses of the Holy Koran, in their revelations of the indirect meaning of the verses, and the effect they have in fact had on them.

After applying the theory of speech acts to the verses of the Surah of Maryam, some of the purposes of Koranic discourse explored and some of its linguistic and rhetorical mysteries were exposed from a pragmatic perspective.
