International economic sanctions are a type of international sanction that can be applied to countries that have broken international law in times of peace or conflict, their legitimacy stems from the United Nations Charter, which refers to this type of punishment under article 41 of Chapter 7, however large applications in the international arena did not emerge until the conclusion of the Cold War, when the true launch of economic sanctions was regarded to have been complete resulting in a worsening of human rights in target countries, as a result of widespread condemnation of such sanctions by the international community and humanitarian organizations, they have been phased out in favor of a new type of punishment that is more intelligent and targeted than its predecessor and is based on the punishment of those who committed the crime and the distinction between the governor and the convict, they are unconcerned about the detrimental impacts on human rights, necessitating greater research and study to develop new types of economic sanctions that are both effective and non-incompatible with them.
